As a studio photographer in Reading, PA, I’ve had the incredible honor of documenting some of life’s most unforgettable moments. And while every session brings its own beauty and emotion, there are a handful of portraits that have stayed with me over the years—the ones that made me laugh, cry, and feel all the things right alongside my clients.
Today, I’m sharing five of my all-time favorite portraits and the powerful stories behind them. Because being a Reading-PA-photographer isn’t just about lighting and posing—it’s about heart, connection, and honoring the journey.
1. Where’s Myles? – The Portrait That Kept Moving

This one still makes me smile. I had photographed this little guy’s family before, and when he came back for his baby brother’s newborn session, Myles showed up ready to entertain. During the family portraits, he changed spots five times—each one funnier than the last. We tried to gently coax him into place, but ultimately we all just rolled with it. The end result? A joyful, hilarious set of portraits that perfectly capture toddlerhood in all its unpredictable glory. It's one of my favorite memories as a Reading-PA-photographer because it reminds me that some of the best moments are the unscripted ones.
2. The Rainbow After the Storm

This mama’s story still takes my breath away. After years of trying, enduring heartbreaking loss after loss, she was finally blessed with her miracle baby. We created a stunning portrait of her holding her son while surrounded by a rainbow of delicate flowers—a symbol of everything she’d been through and all the hope she now held in her arms. As a Reading-PA-photographer, moments like these are what make my work so deeply meaningful. This wasn’t just a portrait. It was healing, celebration, and love in its purest form.
3. A Glimpse of Love | Reading-PA-Photographer

During one of my maternity sessions, I witnessed a quiet kind of magic between a couple. They were patiently awaiting their first baby boy, and you could see the tenderness in his eyes every time he looked at her. I captured a beautiful, intimate portrait of him gently holding her baby bump, completely in awe of her and the life they had created together. It was simple, soft, and real. These are the portraits I live for as a Reading-PA-photographer—the ones that tell love stories without a single word.
4. A Butterfly for His Sister

This one is etched into my heart. A year prior, this couple had experienced the unimaginable—the loss of their daughter during pregnancy. When they came for their maternity session with their second child, we created a portrait that honored both babies. We delicately incorporated a butterfly to represent their angel daughter, wrapping her memory into the love they now held for their son. It was a quiet, powerful image—and a testament to how we can hold both grief and joy at the same time. As a Reading-PA-photographer, it’s a privilege to help families create space for remembrance and celebration in one frame.
5. An Aztec Princess Portrait

When this mama told me she wanted to incorporate her Mexican heritage into her maternity session, I was all in. I designed an Aztec princess-inspired set, hand-painted the backdrop, and created a dramatic headdress just for her. My makeup artist brought the vision to life with a custom look that was bold, beautiful, and regal. The final portrait was everything we hoped for—an artistic celebration of her culture, her strength, and her motherhood journey. It was creative, empowering, and one of the most rewarding shoots I’ve done as a Reading-PA-photographer.

Each of these portraits is more than just a favorite image—they’re little windows into love, loss, laughter, and legacy. And I feel so lucky to be the one behind the lens, helping families in Reading, PA tell their stories with beauty and heart.
