As the sun starts to set a little earlier and the mornings greet us with a crisp chill, it’s clear that summer is making its graceful exit. But don’t pack away the fun just yet—because autumn, my favorite season, is right around the corner! Sure, I’ll miss those lazy pool days, but I’m beyond excited for the cozy sweaters, hot apple cider, and all the fantastic fall activities that I get to enjoy with my family. And trust me, there are plenty to choose from! So, if you’re looking to savor every bit of this magical season, here’s a roundup of my absolute favorite fall events near Reading, PA, perfect for families and expecting mothers alike.

The festival will feature food trucks, craft vendors, a petting zoo, a bounce house, live entertainment, axe throwing, and adult beverages (for those who can have them). Admission is $20 per vehicle, with proceeds going towards making miracles happen for families with special needs children.
Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival If you're up for a little drive, head to the Slatington Airport from Friday, September 13th, to Sunday, September 15th, to enjoy the country's largest hot air balloon display. This event includes food, drinks, face painting, games, carnival rides, craft vendors, bounce houses, and hot air balloon and helicopter rides. My favorite part is the laser light show that illuminates the balloons after the sun goes down. The event ends with a fireworks display on Friday and Saturday nights. This has got to be one of my all-time favorite events! Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children. You can purchase tickets here or at the gate.
West Reading Fall Festival This is a big one! On Saturday, September 21st, from 11 AM to 7 PM, West Reading will close down Penn Ave for this amazing event, filled with live music, performances, food and craft vendors, and more. If you’ve never attended this event, it’s a must!

Weaver’s Orchard Fall Festival This is one of my family’s favorites! Weaver’s Orchard, a pick-your-own fruit place, hosts this amazing fall event every year. The event will take place every Saturday from September 21st to October 26th. They offer hayrides, barrel train rides, face painting, giant tube slides, live entertainment, balloon animals, alpacas and goats, and of course, the opportunity to pick your own apples and pumpkins. They also have some of the best apple cider slushies and whoopie pies—seriously, their whoopie pies are the best! More information is available here. Fall at Weaver's Orchard - Weavers Orchard
Corn Cob Acres If you have small children, this one’s for you. This fall event runs on weekends from September 7th to November 3rd. There are so many activities included in this amazing venue, and my children look forward to it every year. There's a hayride, goat feeding, barrel train rides, bounce houses, a corn maze, a playground area, a corn kernel pit, corn cannons, and pig races. We love to stop by the “pumpkin patch” near the entrance, purchase pumpkins, and paint them with the provided supplies, letting them dry while we enjoy the park. Tickets are $20 at the booth, or you can purchase them online here and save.
With so many exciting events on the horizon, this fall promises to be a season filled with laughter, adventure, and cherished moments with my family. Whether we’re picking pumpkins, enjoying a hayride, or simply soaking in the autumn colors, I know these experiences will create memories that last a lifetime.
